'I like photographs which leave something to the imagination'
Rene Magritte
In this painting the man is standing in front of a sea background surrounded with black clouds. The main focus in this image is the apple as it stands out compared to the rest of the dull colours. In this picture he used a soft variety of colours, the main colours are soft blue and grey but he has created a strong contrast with the red tie and the bright green apple. You are drawn to the red tie because Magrette has painted it right in the middle of the composition.I think he has painted an apple in front of the mans face to make it a surreal image. It could almost be a dream and although I don't like the image,I will use the idea of surrealism in my work.
In my opinion this painting is quite meaningless and has no story drawn that's why I don't like this picture at all however this painting is quite creative and different compared to others

Final outcome
I've improved this photo by using Photoshop and made this image more dramatic and effective. I took this image because I wanted to do something like Rene Magritte's painting as I was inspired by his work.
Salvador Dali
In the painting I can see a clock melting away over the edge of a brown cube.Looking at the painting it looks like parts are flying out of the clock face, this gives the painting movement and animation. In the background I can see a landscape that looks like the seaside. On the edge of the cube there is also a moth which gives the painting a sense of scale, making the clock seem quite big.
The clock is painted very finely and the painter has used bright colours such as gold bright blue and white.Dali's technique is to paint in very fine detail which makes the painting look like it has been Photoshoped.
In my opinion I really like this painting because the painting represents the phrase 'time flies away' however I don't like this painting as much because it's quite boring. This picture is weird and wonderful because nobody has seen anything like this the idea he thought of is quite unique and inspires me by the textures he has produced within the painting.

My definition of surrealism
Turning your dreams into reality.
What is Surrealism ?
A style of art and literature developed principally in the 20th century, stressing the subconscious or non-rational significance of imagery arrived at by automatism or the exploitation of chance effects, unexpected juxtapositions, etc.

Anja Stiegler
Anja Stiegler is a creative photographer and image artist from Wolfs-burg, Germany. Most of her images are a mixture of surrealism and conceptual-ism and takes us into a fascinating world of daydream, where the impossible becomes possible. Anja loves to awake feelings of freedom and happiness by using a wonderful combination of art and colors. She mainly gets her inspiration from music and everyday life.
This is one of my favourite pictures from Anja Stiegler i like this because because it is quite creative and unique the photographer uses fast shutter speed to capture the movement of water in the air, I think its creative because they replaced a shower head with a rainy cloud in this picture the shot they used is a full shot also the colours blue and green stand out and gets your attention,Anja has taken this picture in studio settings this picture has deep thoughts about it and reflects the persons mood.
Ben Zank
Ben Zank is a surrealist photographer California Ben got his first proper camera when he was 19, he then got a job in journalism, but unfortunately didn't make it far in the field. He had a hobby in photography, he now does this full time. I find his work quite unique, I like how each image is completely different to each other.
This Picture is one of my favourite from Ben Zank because it is random however it uses a variety of colours, the surroundings are quite dull and the yellow lines brings the image out the white door is quite creative as it is in the middle of a forest. He uses shallow depth of field also it has been taken using a middle shot this photo was taken outdoors i think the door was photo shopped onto the picture.

This picture has been taken by the photographer Sarah Ann Loreth I like this picture because it has a nightmare feel to it and has a range of cold colours, the colour white stands out on the floor the snow all of the colours complement each other .
